If you engage in too much cardio, it may hurt your ability to gain muscle. Make sure to use strength training the most when building muscle. Keep your diet clean and varied on the days you choose to work out. Consume protein and other calories the hour before exercising. A sufficient calorie intake does not mean eating to excess. You just need to consume enough additional calories on the days you exercise to provide your muscles with nutrition. Do as many sets and repetitions as you can during your training. Do fifteen lifts at minimum, and take a small break between. Doing so is important in stimulating muscle growth because of the lactic acid. By keeping the breaks to about a minute, the lactic acid doesn't have a chance to dissipate. This will give the best results. Plyometric exercises are a great way to build muscle. These particular exercises let your body develop the fast-twitching muscle fibers that encourage growth of muscle mass. Plyometrics are very similar to ballistic exercises due to the fact that they utilize acceleration. For example, plyometric push-ups require you to propel your hands off the floor, pushing your body into the air. You can cheat a little bit when lifting. While you are trying to finish some extra reps, you can use only a little bit of your body if it will help you get it done. This will help you to increase how much you are working out. Though, be mindful that you do not do this often. Work hard so that your rep speed is controlled.
